Randvig always played piano, Lorraine (left) Donna (right). “The Aunts”

If you know “Sister” at all, you also know “The Aunts”.  Aunt Donna, Auntie Rain, and our mother, Randvig, to complete the trio. These women are near and dear to our hearts ALWAYS. Auntie Rain died a couple of years ago right after Christmas which is perfect because she LOVED Christmas.

Sister recently performed at Lorraine’s church (Trinity in Beloit, WI) where she was a choir director forever. We stayed with Aunt Donna. We sang Alisa’s arrangement of “The Old Rugged Cross” which makes Randvig cry every time! Aunt Donna sings, too, with a warm alto voice but prefers to listen and make food. Mom says Donna’s cooking is most like Olga’s (our grandmother). Donna says Olga preferred cooking to performing as well. Donna made us caramel rolls when we were there but thought the caramel was too runny.

You girls sing as beautifully (if not better) as you did when you were kids. You’re all just as beautiful as you were then too. I’m with your mom on this one….made me cry too. It was one of my Grandpa Henry’s favorite hymns…thanks for the great memory of him.

Saw you girls today at First Baptist church in Cambridge, MN, wonderful! I could have listened forever. You are truly blessed with beautiful voices.
Originally from Lakeville, MN had a son born in Northfield. Lots of family still in Lakeville. Also Norweign decent. Understood where you are coming from with the stories.
